Getting The Most Out Of Your Candle

Getting The Most Out Of Your Candle

Perhaps the most important question about a candle and a question I get so often, "do your candles burn all the way through?". The answer is yes, and most candles are designed to burn through, but there is a process behind this. For an average sized candle (8-14 OZ), you'll need to let your candle burn for 2-3 hours upon the first lighting. Allowing the candle to burn long and hot enough will let a full melt pool develop on the top to discourage any future tunneling. Luckily, future burns will not require as much time for a full melt pool, as the wick gets lower into the candle and starts to burn hotter. In short, plan to relax and stay put for a few hours when you're burning a new candle.
